They sure did leave the age of consent outa there didn't they? I wonder if you'd be ok with the state constitutionally voting to lower the age of consent to 12. Would that bother you? Why?

You answer also fails to really address why it was ok for kids to consent to marriage over 60 years ago but not now. Are kids just dumber now?
Are kids dumber? Yes and no. Due to technological advances, children no longer have to "grow-up" as quickly as they did in the past. They do not need to hold down jobs to help their families or to help their parents work in order to put the food on the table. The age of what I consider a "child" has been increasing steadily. I'd actually put the age of children up to around 25 years old. Now, that isn't true in every person's case, but just look at society today and you will see that I speak the truth. This decrease (best word I could think of) has resulted in an alteration in our societal standards. Another explanation could be due to the fact that we are living longer. There is no need to marry and have children from the point a female begins menstruating. On that same note, medical advancements have nearly guaranteed the survival of most children so the need to begin producing babies right off the bat so that some survive also isn't required anymore. Does that answer your questions?

Libertarianism doesn't stand for the lack of all laws, I'm not sure what good setting up and defeating false pretenses is doing for your argument. But no, I think the current age of consent is just fine. I think we have had several positive amendments to the Constitution - the fact that they weren't addressed at the time doesn't make them somehow invalid to me.

That "freedom" already exits in 12-13 states. Right?

You need to study the various versions of libertarianism more. That's not my fault.

So are you suggesting we need to amend the constitution to include an age of consent?

Great point. So why is everyone up in a tizzy about it?

Good answers. They leave the door open for us to reasonably remove the age of consent of the economy collapses and lifespans are cut short though.

Sure, and it would be a suitable response.

Nah. I'm good. You're free to show me a Libertarian position that claims all laws are bad though.

I don't see any reason to do so. I'm fine with states coming up with their own.

There is one well known anarchist poster on this board who has written it's nobody's business but the the molester and child when it comes to pedophilia. He said that would even include his own child and even if someone was molesting his son or daughter he would not do anything to stop it. I can't post who it was who wrote that because the last time I did it, I got a sternly worded private message for doing so.

And there may be a sick person who actually thinks this - but connecting all Libertarians to that attitude, like the OP is doing, is simply flawed logic.

And that is the most important point you took away from my post?

I want to know who this was so I can steer clear of him on this board.

I don't believe you...you've repeatedly shown a propensity to twist and make up stuff.
