I see what you're doing. Stretching the argument to ridiculous lengths to make all arguments about offensive team names/logos seem ridiculous.
It's a cheap fallacy.

they are named after Buffalo Bill(not the creep from Silence of the Lambs) but still not offensive. and this it's talking about mascots.and logos, so it has nothing to do with buffalo bill.

I know. And he was driving force behind bison almost being extinct. That's why Buffalos should be offended, if they have that capability.

Then I'm even more confused as to why they were included at all.

I'm not sure how the Buffalo Bills name is offensive to anyone other than Buffalos.
Promotes violence by invoking a time of Westward expansion that encouraged cruelty and social injustice toward the native people. Buffalo Bill himself greatly exploited the native people. The name also was influenced by its founders, and oil tycoon, and through the use of non-renewable energy should be discouraged.

The only offensive ones are the Redskins name and Chief Wahoo.

The rangers? 99% of every one you listed?
Named after Texas Rangers, unjust law enforcement staff with a history of discrimination and racism.

You may as well add a whole lot more teams to your list if you're going to stretch to such lengths.

The browns? Named after paul brown, and their logo is a helmet.

I'm open to suggestions.

You forgot:
Portland Trail Blazers - also promotes American hegemony and westward expansion
Orlando Magic - promotes witchcraft
Oklahoma City Thunder - demeans victims of Midwestern storms
Phoenix Suns - promotes global warming
Philadelphia Eagles - demeans America itself by portraying the iconic symbol of our country as a petty predator
etc etc etc
We get it. Nice shtick. Any team name/logo can be willfully misconstrued to seem offensive in some backwards sense.
Doesn't change the fact that just a couple are, in actuality, blatantly and overtly offensive.

The browns?
Name doesn't work in today's time and with the increasing Hispanic population. You couldn't name a team the Blacks or Whites. Why Browns?

How are the Buffalo Sabres, Winnipeg Jets and Sacramento Kings offensive? Going off this list, them the Los Angeles Kings should be offensive also.
Posted on 3/13/13 at 12:28 pm to Vlad The Inhaler
Off the top of my head, you can add the NY Rangers, the Magic, the Giants (NY and SF), the Senators and the Canadiens.

Even in this retarded thread this is just a bridge too far.

Am I the only one who gets it? Why are yall arguing with him?
OP is being ridiculous on purpose. He's trying to be as ridiculous as possible. That's the point.

That's how we end up with stupid team names like Pelicans or Raptors. But those might offend someone also. Who knows.

Touché. Thanks for the acknowledgment at least. Enjoy your thread.

NY Rangers,
I think it's a stetch. Not really associated the the racist Texas Rangers, though Tex's Rangers is a play on words.

the Magic
maybe so.
,

the Giants (NY and SF),
I need an explaination. Possible discrimination against the very tall?
quote:
the Senators and the Canadiens
Senators promote civility, IMO. Canadiens may promote too much nationalism.
