I just hope you like/enjoy it the whole way through and don't get pissed off at it like some people did when it aired. But you should be fine.

I think the lack of wait time between episodes (and lack of commericals) will completely change the outlook for first time viewers. Not that he won't enjoy it as much, but he won't be as caught up in the details because many of his questions will be answered quicker rather than over the course of years.

It takes a lot to get my angry at a show. I stuck through 24 and never got mad even in Seasons 6 and 7. Even though HIMYM drives me nuts and some episodes are bland I still love watching it.
