Lost is an experience more so than most shows

Definitely this, moreso than any other piece of entertainment I've ever gotten involved with.

To the OP, as has been mentioned, it does drag a bit in the middle (due to an unclear end date, writers strike, etc) but then picks up. Just remember this show is somewhat of a scifi show at its core, so you'll kinda need to suspend belief towards the 2nd half of the series. But that shouldn't be too hard given that at the point you're at now you've already encountered polar bears on a tropical island, a smoke monster, and visions of dead bodies walking around.

Starting with season 4 it really goes in some crazy directions, but if you don't fall victim to "well this is stupid and unrealistic, this could never happen! It doesn't make sense!" and just enjoy it for what it is, a form of ENTERTAINMENT, you will not regret it at all.

Also count me in the camp that loved the shite out of the finale. The last few minutes are some of the most gripping I've watched on TV.

I've seen your argument for the first two, but I really can't think of a legitimately weak actor on the show. I'd say Evangeline Lilly was probably the worst, and maybe the actors who played Shannon and Boone, but I think the rest of them were pretty great.

Lost is definitely a character driven show.

Not understanding that simple truth has led to show after show failing to replicate it's success.

This thread has definitely gotten me excited to continue. I try to watch at least an episode a night so I should be done in a few months. I have a couple days off here and there where I can knock out more.

Oh and thanks for removing the spoilers. I didn't see what was posted.

Everyone outside of Jack, Locke, Linus, Desmond, Sawyer.

Juliet was ok. Jin and Sun were decent, but could just stay silent a lot. Ecko, Richard, Jacob and MIB were decent as well.

But come on.. Kate? Hurley? Charlie? Blondie? Micheal? Any of the other Others? The tanker crew was terrible. Etc. The show was riddled with some bad acting. The toilet twins?

As others have said you will probably never watch another tv show you will feel so invested in, but that being said the unanswered questions, pointless sub-plots, and characters introduced that end up having nothing to do with anything were the worst thing about the show.

I still haven't been able to make myself watch the series over again too bitter I guess. If I did I doubt I could make it past season 3 that's where the show should have ended, season 4 on is just ridiculous

You're definitely posting all kinds of shite that can spoil things for the OP. Come on, man.

I miss it too. I'm trying to convince one of my friends to watch it so that I can have somebody to wary it again with. He has never seen it and refuses to as of now. It is Baffeling.

I tried getting my wife to watch it with me but it would take too much time away from her shitty Bravo shows.

I've been reluctant to watch Lost for the longest time because of some bad things I heard from friends but I'm glad I finally gave it a shot.

My favorite show of all time. They went a little too sci-fi at times and left a lot of questions unanswered but it is still the greatest show warts and all. I implore you to stick with it until at least the end of season 3 if you lose interest.

I think it's a show that wanes and then gets a heck of a lot better. It got a second wind once it knew it was gonna end and had a definite end date. I don't think it resolved every little thing, but once it got narrative momentum going in the final season, it was pretty impressive. And the S3 finale is great. It's odd, S3 has the best group of episodes, but I think its the weakest season overall. The first half of S3 is a bit of a chore.

I never got the hate for the first episodes of season 3. The only one I didn't like was the wedding episode with Nathan Fillion.

left a lot of questions unanswered

I've never gotten this line of thinking. I feel like the people who watched it live and live and died with every scene got WAY too caught up in tiny, minute, trivial little details that don't matter one iota. Some people want every..single..thing to have some explanation or backstory, that simply isn't feasible. I think all the BIG questions did get answered for the most part. They may not have been answered to everyone's liking, or even in a way that made sense, but I think most questions were answered that actually needed to answered.

And before you ask "well then how do you explain THIS!?", I don't remember near enough about the show as I used to and would defer to OML who does, and also this is a thread for a new watcher so we don't need spoilers here.

IMO is just draaggeeddd for a while with Jack, Sawyer, and Kate's storylines. Got pretty boring after a while.

The actress who played Sun spoke fluent Korean, to where I thought she was ok. I have a newfound respect for the guy who played Jin and thought he was probably the most underrated actor in the series. I've learned an asian language and acted briefly in a Chinese film. Even though I've studied Mandarin for 4 years, it was still difficult for me to speak in a second language and act at the same time. The guy who played Jin (at least when he first started LOST) couldn't speak Korean at all, so I'd say he's a very good actor.

Also I'd say the guy who played Sayid was legitimately great.
