That review was by Chris Tilly.
Here's a snippet of his review of the latest Die Hard...
Bruce Willis is as good as ever as McClane, his effortless charisma and sharp tongue reminding you why the character is so beloved.
So, I'm gonna hold off here in anticpation..

You are taking that snippet out of context. While he liked Willis in the film, he generally thought A Good Day to Die Hard to be a very mediocre movie.
His review on RT is listed as 'rotten' by the website.

As I said before, this may finally be the remake that will live up to the billing.
I can't wait!

I've avoided reading much for fear of spoiling, but my one main question is whether this version attempts any of the humor of the originals, or is it a straight-forward serious horror movie?

I'm very curious about this as well. The remake looks to be straight up madness, but you have to think they are gonna throw a least a little bit of humor in there.

well the first was quite a bit more serious than Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness so I'd assume this one is less comedic.

Bloody-Disgusting gave Evil Dead 4/5 Skulls. Here is part of their review

It’s also something you should see in a theater. While I’m sure I’ll get a lot of replay out of the eventual Blu-ray release, this is something you need to experience with your fellow horror comrades. You’re going to want to share this. You’re going to want to hear your friends laugh, scream and utterly lose themselves. This is your Avengers, this is your Avatar, this is whatever you’ve been wanting a “big” horror movie to be for over a decade. Not a perfect movie, but a near perfect experience.
