The LSU seniors fell (literally) short of victory in their last regular season home game, 67-81 versus Ole Miss. Just 1:11 into the game, a hard but fair foul by Murphy Holloway on LSU senior and leader Charles Carmouche (above) took him out of action for the majority of the first half. LSU made several attempted comebacks in the second half, but could never get enough stops of the potent Ole Miss offense to make the full comeback.

Johnny O'Bryant finished the regular season with his SEC leading 14th double double, after scoring 17 and pulling down 12 boards. Johnny O'Bryant was 7 of 7 from the free throw line. Andre Stringer also played well for LSU scoring a team leading 18 points on 4 of 8 shooting from deep. Hickey scored 10, Carmouche scored 8, and Andrew Del Piero had 7 for the Tigers. They weren't able to contain the SEC's leading scorer Marshall Henderson. He scored 22 points and had 5 assists and 5 steals.

With a win, LSU would have held the 7 seed in the SEC Tournament, but now sit in the dreaded 8 vs 9 game at noon Thursday against Georgia. The winner of that one will have the first crack at knocking off #1 seed Florida in the quarterfinals of the Tournament.

LSU ends their regular season with 18 wins and 11 losses. Their 9-9 SEC record was also very respectable. I'd say about 95% of LSU fans had projected less than 9 SEC wins, so Coach Jones and the 12-13 Tigers have done an exemplary job of competing with the assets they held. LSU has a top 10 recruiting class coming in next season who come in with a winning pedigree. Both Tim Quarterman (Georgia) and Jarell Martin (Louisiana) won their state titles in the past two weeks, while Jordan Mickey won the NACA National Title with Prime Prep of Dallas.

The SEC Tournament starts for LSU at noon on Thursday against Georgia. While the path won't be easy, LSU Still has as much of a chance as any in a very wide open SEC tournament.

I place the loss squarely on my shoulders.

I showed up at the PMAC with LSU leading 21-13 with 13 or so minutes remaining in the half.

..a 30-9 run later, it was 43-30 OM at halftime.

Nice dunk by the skinny white dude at halftime, but he followed it up with a few airballs.

This loss was so disappointing. Hopefully our guys can learn from it and make a run in the tourney.

I have no idea of what to expect from our team on Thursday
