Why hasn't Marvel made an animated Civil War movie/series?

I realize that a live action movie will never happen but I think it would make a great series as opposed to trying to cram it all into one movie and who wouldn't want to watch it? It involves damn near every Marvel hero fighting against each other.

ETA: For those who don't know about it...

I saw an animated "Red Badge of Courage" when I was a kid. Does this count?

That would be pretty good, especially if they did it live action, but so would a Marvel vs DC movie which will probably never happen either.

Probably because they have long term plans to make a live action movie out of the storyline.

Well, the last Avengers series the did was buried on some Disney cartoon channel and people who didn't get that channel had to scour the net or spring for the DVD's to get it I'd like to see them correct their "distribution" first. After the do that I think there are tons of storylines they could take on before doing Civil War. Just in Avengers there is Mansion Seige, Celestial Madonna, The Vision/Wondy/Hank Ultron stuff (of course they altered the Ultron origin in the Avengers cartoon so they would have to deal with that). Heck, I would prefere a good Zodiac story over Civil War I think.

I thought Earth's Mightiest Heroes was done pretty well, but they are transitioning it to a new show called Avengers Assemble. Also on DisneyXD. It will run with a new Hulk show and the current Spider Man (which is only okay).

My favorite Marvel show of recent vintage was Wolverine and the XMen, but they cancelled it after one season. It really annoyed me because season 2 was supposed to be Age of Apocalypse.

If they ran with this storyline, I'd rather they didn't make it a TV series. I'd much rather a set of movies. It would probably be much more successful than a TV series as well.

Just look at Young Justice. That show was great but they cancelled it. No way this show would last.
