CDawg--great first collection of CD's!
I had over 1000 CD's and started ripping them when I got my first ipod in 2004/5. Then Katrina hit, I had only gotten through 250 or so, and lost the rest. Proceeded to take my laptop to every friend's house I knew and steal their music...

Since you specify CD, it was Christmas of 1989 and I was 12.
Black Crows/ Shake Your Money Maker
Last new CD I bought was 2003, Linkin Park Meteora. I've bought used CDs since then though.

that I don't remember, I do remember buying my 1st 8-track, Pink Floyd, The Wall in 1979, just in time for them to go the way of the DoDo.

no, I had it for a long time too. I think it got thrown out when I went off to college, I stepped on the 8 track of Rush Moving pictures a week after I got it.

1983, I was 24 and the CD was the Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky. The recording was made by Isao Tomita playing synthesizer.
I was in the Army at the time. I had recently bought a Yamaha M-80 and C-80 amp and preamp to match with some JBL L-150A speakers. I bought a Nakamichi CD player and never looked back.

quote:Very nice. My first CD Player was a Yamaha, but I had a Nakamichi RX 505 cassette deck with the UDAR mechanism which actually removed the tape, spun in around and re-inserted it. It was amazing.

1988. I was 14 and made the fatal mistake of letting my bf borrow it. Lesson learned early.
