I'd imagine the attitude on here would be different if it were CP3 sitting out a whole year when he was with the hornets after he had been medically cleared and the team was headed to the playoffs
we all know which players, but if other guys, like you said you, had the same exact reports, this board would be destroying them.

What are you talking about? Derrick Rose plays harder than any player in the league. I wouldn't question his heart or his own personal evaluation of his body. Dude takes a lot of abuse from the style of ball he plays. I would rather have him back next season than risk it.

So people want to risk the long term health of a 24 y/o MVP to appease some season ticket holders?? How short sighted is that? What if he reaggravates his knee and has to sit out part of next year? All for the viewing pleasure of a couple Chicagoans? Do bulls fans not remember life after MJ and before rose?? You've got a stud, don't risk ruining him for short term goals

And if anyone has torn their ACL, they know being physically healed his only half the battle. It really is a mind frick. By all accounts, d-rose is a good guy. I have no reason to not to trust him when he says he's not ready to play. But according to some guys on a message board who used to be really good at NBA hang time, they should drag this guy onto the court with a leash and make sure he plays, despite him telling you he's not ready. Brilliant.

Long term health? He has been cleared to return to games. This has nothing to do with his health, it is more of a psychological thing with Rosé now and he isn't going to magically get over it until he steps back on the court.

I feel like PEEEJ reading this thread. What the frick? He's medically cleared to return, they're going to the playoffs and they're paying him $16 million this year. Get your fricking arse on the court.

everyone just assumes hes going to suit up and BOOM! 2011 MVP rose is there. it will take weeks to get into the swing of things. i cant imagine hes in great shape. hes not confident he can jump off that leg and dunk.

and there have been countless players who were cleared by the docs, only to reaggravate their injuries. esp when the player freely admits hes not fully confident in the knee. a player who thrives on his athleticism.

give him the off season, put more time between the injury and full speed NBA action-- on that note, starting next year with training camp, preseason, november b-ball-- should be the perfect process of getting him back in swing of things. not throw him in the middle of playoff basketball hoping and praying he can bail out the season

SIXTEEN

MILLION

DOLLARS

Get on the court. Use the end of the season to get back to fitness and try to win in the playoffs.

so the guy playing through the pain of a back surgery plus shoulder injuries as well is more of a pussy than the guy who is cleared to play but by some accounts isn't ready due to not being mentally ready?

This is the free pass I was talking abou.

How did those same Chicago fans feel about Cutler? And he actually tried to play through his knee injury and was taken out by coaches.

They are in the playoffs missing one of the 10 best players in the NBA. You cant just say it is over. Also what if LeBron somehow gets injured in the playoffs? Is it still over for the Bulls then? If he is healthy, he needs to give it a shot. The only for him to get over this mental issue is to get on the court.

You would think he would try to play in a limited roll, just out of respect of his teammates
