this is much worse then D3 ever was.

yeah people made fun of the error 37 BS but in D3 you either got in and played(for the most part) or you didnt.

SimCity adds 3 or 4 more layers to that. you first have to get to the point where you can even try to load the game(server select/authentication) which can have a weird 15 min timer to try again attached to it. its not even a queue, but once passed that(only hit it twice so far) you still might not even be able to log in once the game loads and will have to do that process all over again. then if you do load in fine with no connection error msg you might not be able to load your city which also seems to require you back all the way back out and start all over.

but wait there's more...once into your city you may lose connection to the servers and risk the city not actually saving anymore progress. you lose connection pretty often from what i've seen. most of the time you do reconnect but you are left waiting while its says its not connected wondering if you ever will reconnect(and thus save).

oh we are not done yet. if everything above actually does work you still may not have any kind of region interaction. that's a big deal because the game forces you with its city size to actually depend on other cities in the region. my best city suddenly had a 23,000 low wealth worker shortage because it stopped getting workers from the region. this also meant i couldnt get extra sewage and water as well and required some layout juggling to fix.

throw in the fact that once you fill out your city the game turns into waiting for a little more cash to do the perpetual upgrade dance and the fact that they disabled the fastest speed slowing all of this down even more and you've got a disaster.
