Gotta be existing technology. No fleshlight in the exhaust pipe. I'll start:
Purpose: General contractor work; hauling tools, pulling a gooseneck, ect.
Base: Mid-2000's GMC regular cab with a custom built frame. Dually with rear axle set back a bit for better trailering.
Powertrain: Built Cummins with a relatively mild compound turbo setup. +/-500hp. Allison 6 speed, 2 speed gear t-case, Dana 80 lockers front and back.
315 70R 15's with just enough lift to make them fit.
Air ride rear suspension.
Underhood air compressor and generator.
Custom flat bed with under bed tool storage.
Dark gray in color.
Custom grill guard.
What you got?

Impossible to pick anything less than 2 trucks. I have always wanted to start building and manufacturing trucks when I get older, so I have some idea, one of which is basically like a beefed up Hilux diesel

That's badass. Why not go to a small block 454 while you're at it? Same size and weight and way more power.

Being realistic, the 350 would be slightly warmed over from a stock engine. I don't need that much power, and the mileage would suck mega balls.

I saw a '72 in Petersens 4 wheel magazine over ten years ago, and I have wanted one since.
I'd take it in '67-72 or 73-79.
Both awesome GM body styles.

Power train: CAT
That would be different. I think your problem is any CAT light enough won't make enough power. And the aftermarket for CAT upgrades doesn't exist.

As far as no know, the only CAT motors that would be legal and work would be big rig motors(450-650hp). They are heavy as the frick and a regular truck frame would just crack with that weight on it

Y'all need to stop killing my dreams.
Maybe I'd have CAT design one for a 3/4 ton

I think they have tried, but quit fricking around with it because of the tiered diesel emissions crap. Too expensive to design a motor every 2 years.
