Its stupid because they always get the alligator to surface and could shoot but frick that, lets fight him for 5 minutes and shoot a gun in the water so we get the splash back effect

I am sure the first few times they would raise the gator to the top of the water and POW. The producer prolly told them they needed to see the gator fight for his life and to make it look like a struggle.
