re: Johnny O'Bryant III's draft stock - Top 100 board

Most of what people are saying about the 2014 draft is it will be one of the strongest drafts in the last 10 years or so. The 2013 draft is considered much weaker to the point NBA GMs have said multiple HS players could be in this draft and be the #1 pick.

You could say the same thing in a lot of years. Also, just because a class isn't top heavy doesn't mean that it doesn't have depth ( I have no idea if it does). Job isn't gunning for the number one spot

From everything I've heard he really likes the way LSU is playing and wants to see it through. I think he is 100% committed to coming back.
I would love that.

Hopefully the new guys coming in mesh well with everyone coming back, and they can make a run at this thing.

Would love to see a couple high profile opponents

Now that he's healthy, JOB looks like a different player.
He still needs to work on his mid-range shot and other little things.
I think he comes back next year and plays anything close to how he has late this year he's a mid-1st round selection IMO.

One thing about next year, if Martin/Mickey and to a lesser extent Odo are as good as advertised, JOB will have alot more room to navigate. If teams double him like they have this year, they will pay a price.

i guarantee that ranking will change for JOB. i think it's 50/50 chance of losing him. Either way, Johnny Jones is going to put this team on the landscape of NCAA basketball. how can anyone not be impressed with what he's doing. LSU basketball is back. thanks Johnny!

After watching tape on both Mickey and Martin, Mickey looks more wing while Martin looks like a power forward. Still lots of work to be done with both of them, but I could see Mickey at SF before Martin. I think both could play 3 though.

I think some people are underestimating JOB's intelligence.
He can be an introspective guy.

That said, I hope there aren't any agent sharks swimming around getting in his ear.

when you have a guy like JOB at 6-9, and thick, and scoring. He’s gonna get a lot of attention from scouts and agents. Johnny Jones looks to succeed no matter what happens.

WIth the information I have gathered I would put JOB's chances of being a Tiger around 85% right now. I agree Brit that many people here don't understand the intelligence that young man has. From the few sources close to him that I have spoken to, it seems pretty clear he is planning on coming back to Baton Rouge barring some crazy finish or guarantees.

Here's to hoping we win out and JOB III has good but not great games

?

If you mean like his view has changed, my most recent discussions were held last week. Nothing monumental has happened since then.

what I said was a Seinfeld reference that translates to "I'm very happy"

Believe me, SoS, I'm not doubting you at all.

Just my impression of him from a few conversations we've had over the past 2 years . He always seems to consider what he says before speaking, quietly spoken (not brash or cocky), has interesting comments, has a good vocab. Had a nice manner with some special needs kids, when the team came to help the children play T ball.
Just doesn't seem to be the type to think he's "all that" , with misguided arrogance/ego that would lead him to think he's NBA bound.come June.

Of course he might be influenced by an agent telling him how great he is. I hope not
