Its not like it's unabashed criticism

True. But besides Cam, Hicks, Lofton and Greer the whole defense played poorly.

And as far as Jenkins and Harper are concerned, I think they were misused by Spags. Jenkins was given too much space to cover and Harper was given space to cover until week eight or nine when he was pretty much made a LBer, then in week twelve he was playing back again. It was like Spags had no idea what he was doing the whole damn season.

Wasn't the same thing said about Jenkins under Williams too? I remember everyone used to say that since we blitzed so much, Jenkins had to cover too much of the field by himself and Spags' scheme would be a better fit.

I was optimistic as hell about Jenkins a couple of years ago, and was a big Harper defender, but these guys have to be replaced. No reason at all to keep playing them. No more excuses about what scheme fits better, or the lack of talent around them. We went through 2 D coordinator's with two completely different schemes and neither of them fit Jenkins or Harper. IAQ plays with the same guys around Jenkins and out played him by MILES. At this point, I'm willing to try anyone else with a pulse at SS whether it is Bush, White, or a draft pick like Vaccaro or Rambo.

90% of playing free safety is being able to guess on routes. Jenkins is horrible at that. The times you see him out of position for tackles is when he guesses wrong. When you are in a cover 1, yes, your FS is out on an island, and it's a little more acceptable to misjudge or just not be able to catch up to a receiver.

But I've seen him be out of place on just about every play all year. Some of that can be confusion with the new system. I'm of the mindset that he's a below average player in a system he just never understood.
