The suggestion at the end that he'd come out of retirement AGAIN is just stupid. The guy could barely walk.

Couldn't the JL movie just take place in between Begins and before DK/DKR?

That would completely undermine the entire theme of seclusion and searching for death that Wayne was suffering prior to climbing out of the pit. Also, being "out of the game" for eight years is what made him vulnerable both mentally and physically to Bane.

I mean, I guess...but think about that for a second. Supes and Bats know each other...work together, and he stiffs Batman when Gotham's being destroyed by Bane and Batman is all old and retired?

Maybe I'm the only one, but the thing I loved about Nolan's universe was that it really WASN'T a superhero movie so much as it was a crime drama. It was an incredible and sort of different take on Batman and it worked. I'd liken it to the one off comic called Batman:Gotham by Gaslight where it's set in turn of the last century Gotham and Jack the Ripper has come to Gotham.

And as for rebooting Batman, it wouldn't require the full get-to-know-you bullshite we have to endure. Everyone knows Batman's backstory and it could be addressed like ti was in The Incredible Hulk with a montage of what happened in the opening credits.

No it couldn't. TDK takes place a few weeks after Batman Begins, and we know Batman has just been mopping around and not done much of anything between TDK and TDKR.
