Batman and Superman trump anything Marvel has ever put out. The only other character that challenges those two, popularity wise, is Spider-Man.

I'm torn. On one hand this is a complete knock out of the park lineup if true. On the other hand, how does this affect TDKR and Nolan's trilogy?
Also, I was ready for a different interpretation of Batman, preferably a hyper paranoid, brilliant and worlds's greatest detective version.

If we're talking pure popularity, yeah those are up there. There's a massive drop-off after Batman though. DC has some great topline characters, but most of their secondary and tertiary characters stink (there are some needles in the haystack though).
But talking pure popularity is dumb. Also, yeah Batman is the great superhero of all-time, no doubt about that, but having to immediately put it in terms of "Batman >>>>>>> Marvel," is equally dumb.
This thread is about Justice League, which....
Would never ever work in Nolan's universe. It just doesn't support it.
