It is filled with rubber crumbs, but they are packed too much. They need to get the field worked on. These turfs aren't install-it-and-forget-it. If the pellets get overpacked, they don't provide traction and the field becomes slippery. You run some kind of machine on it that loosens the pellets, then you add more pellets and you get traction back.
I don't think the turf is bad, so much as it's overdue for maintenance.

I live in the subdivision next to the stadium. I watched them install it about 5 yrs ago. Trust me it has the rubber in it. My kids went to ZHS and I have spent many a night in that stadium.
