Obviously it was just like that.
See, how doing something back in the day is automatically "right" years later when you see someone doing something you think you did better?

Difference is that football was not the business that it is today
CBS and ESPN will yank our arse off tv in a heartbeat if we keep that stuff up
No exposure hurts recruiting and then back to mediocrity...or worse
