2007 Warriors vs 2013 Warriors

Who would win a 7 game series? There's a current poll on realgm asking this very question. I was surprised to find that 53% of voters believe the 2013 Warriors would win.
I think the 2007 Warriors would win. They had Baron Davis playing some of his best ball, Stephen Jackson in his prime, and a young Monta Ellis.
Not to mention they also had a young Jason Richardson, Al Harrington, and 3 point specialist Matt Barnes.
They also beat the #1 Dallas Mavs in the first round, as I'm sure everyone remembers.

2013 is a million times better on the defensive end and would win out in a 7 game series with Bogut and Lee down low
2013 can play in both an up tempo game and a half court game. 07 had to run

It's tough to say really. The 06-07 team gave up 5 more points a game, but they also scored 5 more points a game because they played at a much higher pace. In fact, the 06-07 Warriors played at the fastest pace of any team over the last 10 years. For comparisons sake, the Rockets play at the fastest pace right now, but they would be dead last by a good deal in 06-07.
If you look at defensive efficiency (points given up per 100 possessions), the 06-07 warriors were tied 9th at 88.4. The 2013 Warriors are tied 17th at 103.7. Now NBA teams as a whole are much more efficient on offense than they were 5 years ago, but I'd still say the Warriors aren't very good on D.
In terms of who would win, I would probably give a slight edge to the 06-07 team. This year's Warriors have no good perimeter defenders. Jack is ok, but Thompson is bad and Curry is horrible. Ellis and Davis were actually good defenders back in 06-07. Biedrins was also a very solid C back then. I also think the 06-07 team has an edge at coach. Though it's still too early to judge how good Mark Jackson can be. Guarding David Lee is the only problem I see for the 06-07 team, but they found a way to beat a Dirk led Mavs team, so they definitely could do it.
