They are both close to being done IMO. Yeah it would be an upgrade, but for what, a year? Two? RBs at 29 with the pounding that SJax has taken fall off a cliff.

That is the Falcons Super Bowl window. By that time I would think that younger guys should be seasoned and ready to take over.

They don't need him to be the SJax of old, they just need him to be serviceable with Quizz and provide a threat in the Play Action game to buy Matt Ryan time.

The Falcons are thinking about NOW, not so much building towards the future. It's hard to disagree with that mindset especially with how close they were to a SB this season. 1-2 solid years from Freeney/SJax may be enough to put them in a super bowl.
