Exactly what I read to make me think that they are talking about aftermarket lighting. My jeep came with driving lights that I use daily. If i was to add a second or third set, these would be illegal to use

The statute from what I read deals with aftermarket light being used, or lights that are altered with tint or different colored lighbulbs.

Luckily my fogs and driving lights actually fit between the 24" and 54" window.

I'd be pissed if I got ticketed for running factory equipment. If they said there was no need ask them if they are willing to take liability in what I deem a low light situation requiring fog lights.

murders, drugs, theft, drunks, semi trucks speeding

how many lives are we losing to fog lights?

It is no wonder people think that everyone in LA is either a Duck Dynasty or Swamp person

Sounds like finding a reason to pull people over for things other than 24" wheels or limo tint.

Overall I'm ok with them enforcing this. The new Audis have a rear fog light that comes on too and that shite will blind you.

Not to mention the D bags that install LEDs and HIDs in them and run them all day.

These people need to DIAF. I wish there was a way to absorb that light and redirect it right back in their face so they would know how annoying it is to either be in front of them or driving facing them.

This will be throw out if you fight it. Unless they are aftermarket, what you have in your vehicle is actually a driving light and is 100% legal to have on while driving.

There's another statute that allows their use only in inclement weather or the like - factory or aftermarket.

It's sort of like the speed limit - you can do the limit, but still be operating the vehicle too fast for the present conditions (ie, inclement weather).

Or that's how it was when I was an officer in Louisiana years ago.

This says you can't approach a vehicle (head on or from behind) with fog lamps unless it's inclement weather.

I usually shine my brights at them if they're coming my way or let them pass and hit the brights behind them. That's literally exactly what they're doing to everyone else on the road.

The statute also says no inspection place should pass your car if you had them. So, does this mean if you passed inspection with them, you could claim innocence? Poorly written law and stupid enforcement.

That for actual fog lights, not factory installed driving lights. Factory installed driving lights are legal with the height requirements, which all factory installed driving lights conform to. This is a money grab ticket the officer is going won't be fought.

Fog lamps are the PIAA, Hella, and KC lights that people put on bumpers and racks. And they're bright as shite.

I know exactly what they are, and it appears the cop either doesn't know, or is just writing tickets hoping they just get paid.

Which are legal, for off road use only.

It's when knuckleheads do those shitty HID conversions in the stock assemblies that should be broken out with a nightstick.

This too. My buddy just put a plug and play kit into his R6, and the damn thing is blinding. I'm trying to talk him into retrofitting some projectors, but he just won't hear it. He never rides at night, so it's not too bad, bust still
