Tire question for jeep

I'm looking into new tires for my wrangler, I'm trying to decide between a 285/70R17 (33) or 285/75R17 (34). Can I get some recommendations for a tire? Not really looking for mud grips but I would like an A/T. My wrangler is on road about 80% of the time.

BFG a/t's on a wrangler will last 50,000+ miles. I have a friend who got 70,000 out of them on a light SUV.
Goodyear duratrac's are also a good choice. Or Cooper s/t if they make that size. Maybe Nitto Trail Grapplers? 20% off road time is pretty significant. Don't cheap out and get street tires. None are going to be super expensive. (I have little sympathy - I had to buy BFG's for 20" rims and nearly fainted at the bill).
As far as size goes: don't underestimate what going up in size is going to do to your gas mileage. 1" wider can drop you 2-3 MPG.

Like GaryMyMan said,
Is this heavy duty crawling, riding trails, or just light mud and unimproved roads?
Also, what is most important to you...performance, gas mileage, durability, etc?
I put a set of these Goodyears on my CJ a few years ago and have been pleased with them.
They give me good all around performance, decent gas mileage, and low road noise.
Goodyear will also let you try them out for 30 days (look into the Goodyear Pledge.)
