I have never seen Miles get in anyone's face even during the game. He is more of a father to his players than a coach.
You don't need to get in a players face on TV to be a coach.

But don't you agree that ALL coaches have to deal with this player behavior? Some may be better than others but it's not just a "Les Miles" coaching style thing unique just to LSU.
absolutley. However the fact is...one of them makes more than the rest probably put together. I'd bet every dollar I have that Les would be the first to admit that the buck stops with him and it's his repsonsiblity. And no for the last time, I dont hate Les Miles at all.

He's talking about all coaches in NCAA not just all coaches at LSU.

What in God's name are you even talking about?
quote:
You people love to make excuses for shortcomings of players and coaches.
Who did I make an excuse for? Sam Montgomery not busting his arse on every single play is his fault, no one else's.
quote:
But the buck stops with him.. he gets paid a whole lot of money for a reason.
Yeah his job is to discipline players as he sees fit. It isn't his fault that Mathieu was a fricking idiot, he kicked him off the team. It wasn't his fault Montgomery didn't bust his ass. He didn't start him.
quote:
Just like with TM7, many of you here make excuses for it.. I don't get that thought process.
Again, where did I make an excuse. Quote me where I made some excuse for someone.
quote:
I suppose some of you feel that makes you somehow a better fan to never critisize or question anything that players or coaches wearing P&g
I rolled my eyes at the stupidity of your post implying that Sam Montgomery not busting his arse 100% of the time is, in your opinion, the reason why Bama is, in your opinion, ahead of LSU.

Sure they do. But I dont care about South Fla or rutgers or vanderbilt or or any other team.... I care about one... Alabama. That's the measuring stick. Apparently the man is doing something right over there.

And he also had to deal with players taking plays off as well as players committing assault and robberies on campus. Montgomery is the only player I can remember in the Miles era who had this knock against him. Does that mean Miles is responsible for the attitudes of all the other players who didn't take playe off.

Why do you care about Bama so much?

That's the measuring stick.
Why? We are 2-2 against them in the last 4 meetings. We had them beat in our place this year if it wasn't for a bad series at the end of the game. We would be 3-1 had the game gone our way. It didn't go our way, but just as easily could have. Why are they so far ahead of us in your book? While you are in here saying that all of us are making excuses, which I haven't seen anyone in here do, you are putting Bama up on some pedestal like we can't compete with them. The LSU - Bama game is one of the best games of the year every year and always has national championship implications. We aren't that far "behind" them.

Then you aren't watching or you just want miles to only get in players faces and scream at them like a lunatic because he does get in players faces a good bit already. And what's the obsession with lsu fans wanting coaches to get in a player's face and yell at them? Serious question.

Do you feel that LM’s friendliness towards players is allowing the players to get away with taking easy games off? As we all know, LM’s friendliness with player is one of the many reasons that kids want to call LSU football their home. Does anyone feel that Les should look at this situation and re-evaluate this aspect of his coaching philosophy?
This might be the most Idiotic 2nd post I have ever seen..

I have wondered the same thing from people that post that on here. Like that is some sort of measuring stick for how successful a coach is. I guess because everyone saw Saban tell McCarron to settle the f&*k down after that TD everyone thinks the coach has to get in the player's face.
