I agree with most of the posts that it is the players responsibility to play at %100 intensity every game. Thanks to the board for not killing me.

Do you feel that LM’s friendliness towards players is allowing the players to get away with taking easy games off?

No. It's why they call them "trap games". Coaches preach their arses off to try and avoid this. See Florida vs UL-L. The entire team took that game off.

Agreed. He didn't even play the 1st 2 quarters of the opener. He must slack off in practice too. This thread is dumb.

If something bad happens its Les Miles' fault and he should shoulder all the blame.

If something good happens its because of the players or a coordinator and Miles' had close to zero contribution.

Am I right?

Of course its Les Miles fault.. as well as the rest of the coaching staff.

They watch film, they see.

To me what makes it worse is that SMontg was supposedely one of our leaders... nice example to set.

I said this the other day, its true regardless if you like to hear it or not.. this very well be the diff now between LSU and Alabama.
Not the only reason, but a significant one.

Miles (or coaches )are not responsible for players behavior on or off the field.

They are responsible for results, and reacting to or correcting behavior OR making a choice to replace the said player to get those results.

WHy in the world would you roll your eyes at that?
WHich part of what you quoted me is not true?

I've noticed something about a portion of our fan base... You people love to make excuses for shortcomings of players and coaches.

I dont hate Les Miles at all..
But the buck stops with him.. he gets paid a whole lot of money for a reason.
Nobody here accused SM of loafing... The guy admited it HIMSELF... geeees.

Just like with TM7, many of you here make excuses for it.. I don't get that thought process.
I suppose some of you feel that makes you somehow a better fan to never critisize or question anything that players or coaches wearing P&g.... it doenst.
Keep telling yourself it does so you gain favor amonst other super fans on a message board.

But don't you agree that ALL coaches have to deal with this player behavior? Some may be better than others but it's not just a "Les Miles" coaching style thing unique just to LSU.

We have over 85 players on the team and pay a lot of money for position coaches but you want Les Miles to coach a dlineman? Les obviously adressed the problem by sitting him and giving Lavar more playing time but the kids are going to do what they want.

and yes you hate Miles.

He rolled his eyes at that because you claimed that their is some difference between LSU and Alabma when it comes to players "loafing"

One of the biggest knocks of Terrence Cody when he came out was he takes plays off. Yet you somehow try to turn it into a problem unique to LSU.

How many other players here have been accused of taking plays off? It's not an LSU problem, it's a Sam Montgomery problem.

So chavis gets praise for the defense, yet miles gets blamed for it.

Yall cant have it both ways.

In all honesty, I have never seen Miles get in anyone's face even during the game. He is more of a father to his players than a coach. J/S
