It seems as if there is a modern day conspiracy against the OB of late. Threads that could be considered to be posted on the OT are posted there simply because of the core group of posters that are there.

Some threads are anchor worthy, but they are sinking with wild abandon today.

The monkeys are getting upset in the zoo, Fred. Loyal posters are leaving in droves due to the bullshite conspiracy occurring against the OB of late, from what I hear.

Here are some of the main reasons for anchored threads: 1. The subject of the thread is too short and not descriptive enough. We often see users just put one word or sometimes two words. Even 3-4 words can be too short. These are immediately anchored. Again, be descriptive. The subject should contain the point of your thread. 2. The subject of the thread is cut off. This is a problem that has been popping up a lot lately. A user will post a subject such as: "The key to winning the game is..." or "I am about to get torn to shreds but I think that" For whatever reasons, the user cut the subject off and is requiring that the reader click on the thread to find out what the point of the thread is. We would rather the main idea of the thread to be inside the subject.

Chicken, was this anchor rule made before you could hover on the subject and can see the whole op post?

• Your post(s) may be whacked if you:
o Start a new thread for every thought that pops into your head.
o Start a new thread in response to an existing thread.
o Start a new thread commenting on an existing thread anywhere on the site.
o Use an excessive amount of emoticons (i.e., smileys) in a post.
o Use gratuitous profanity.
o Engage in excessive “IMing.”

We don't need every user on the site starting a thread title: The Official (username) doing XXXXX thread.

If you think it's a waste, don't waste your time going there. I think the gaming board and soccer board are for pussies, but I don't go to them. I don't bitch about the ones that visit their spots.

What is the difference in the nightly cooking and drinking thread on the OB and the WFDT?

Don't tell me it's because it isn't outdoor related. It is one damn thread per evening. It isn't hurting anything.

With all do respect Mr Fred, part of the outdoor culture is to discuss past/future hunts or activities for advice or spreading of knowledge

There is no conspiracy.

IM threads aren't allowed on the outdoor board.

The poor thread titles with no way of knowing what a thread is about is the main reason why threads are getting anchored.

Outdoorsmen like to shoot the shite, drink beer, and kick fires. That's what we do. Ease up on the OB Fred.
