IGN

Video in link.

Earlier this year, Ubisoft's CEO announced that a new Assassin's Creed game would be coming this year. That was no surprise, though the fact that the game would star a new hero in a new era was something worth noting. Today, Kotaku appears to have uncovered precisely where that game will be set - and what it will be called.

A photo of a poster, set to run in game stores this coming Monday, March 4, was sent to the outlet, indicating the name of the next AC game will be 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag'. The poster, illustrated by Todd McFarlane, also clearly showcases a new assassin in a pirate-themed era. This also lines up with multiple rumors from earlier this year, suggesting Ubisoft's time-spanning saga would be moving to the Caribbean.

Here's a look at Kotaku's poster:

I need to push through this game. Got bored quickly at the beginning. Also really glitchy on the PC.

They are popping those babies out one after another. I will still probably buy though.

I will rent the next one like I have the past 3 games

Games like this are why I'm glad I use gamefly, in no way are they worth a full price tag.

What the frick is this? I don't see how they make a new one without bringing Desmond back somehow. If they don't its bullshite. They never even tapped the potential Desmond had as a character. You play as him for all of 2 hours through 5 games. Yep. I'm mad.

You actually invested two hours in a game? That must have taken months!

2 was just incredible. But I was only able to play Brotherhood and 3 in spurts. And I'm a stealth/assassin game junkie.

Yea that ending sucked. And honestly I never really understood the whole Desmond storyline or what he was even trying to do, that never interested me. I think they wasted alot of time and gameplay time just doing the bullshite stuff in the third one. They could have kept it going by just saying it was Desmond trying to discover the past of his ancestors/Assassins.

I also liked it alot better when it was in the medieval era. I think they jumped the shark by coming to colonial america.

The sailing mechanic in AssCreed 3 was actually quite entertaining.

With the nautical theme, I guess we can expect more of that.

I am cautiously optimistic.

I'm ready to make some people walk the fricking plank.

ETA: definitely a redbox though. the last game had shite for replay value.

not a war

I just can't understand how people still have faith in this series after 3.

2 and Brotherhood were so much fricking fun, and now it's turning into a COD deal where they spit out games as fast as they can.
