The Loveless Cafe

I'm going to sound like that guy, but it was much better before it was bought out and expanded. We used to eat there once a week when my dad's cousin ran the kitchen. The quality of the biscuits and preserves has taken a nose dive, as has the chicken liver. The place really isn't worth the drive as it's just become a big tourist destination now.

I personally like Edley's BBQ the best but I would go to Edley's, Judge Bean's, and Bacon and Caviar before I went to Jack's. Last time I went to to Jack's my brisket was pretty bad, full of fat. Haven't been back since. My buddies say Martin's is the best but it's further out of town. I've never been to Martin's.

Middle Tennessee isn't exactly known for its brisket. The only thing our family ever eats is pulled pork that's been over direct heat with not much smoke flavor. Add some sauce and some sweet cornbread and you're good to go. The best place used to be Herbert's down in Franklin, but I think they closed up a few years ago.
