A post trade deadline update to the season long Missing Piece column. The pieces that moved or didn't move make Bledsoe, Pekovic and Jennings the most likely offseason targets. No teams taking on big salary guys via trade means there will be enough teams with cap space that the Hornets are unlikely to get Andre Iguodala, Paul Milsap, Al Jefferson, and Josh Smith. There also is an update to what the Hornets draft board should be.

I don't know if I agree with Bledsoe showing "tremendous ability" to run a team during CP3's absence. The team went 6-6 during that stretch.

I heard Blessoe has a pool. Perfect fit.

Yeah, I'm not sold on Bledsoe. Trading Vasquez for him seems like a lateral move at best.

I think Bledsoe is a better fit for this team honestly. Just need to get a scorer at the 3. He allows us to run a faster paced offense and isn't a liability on the defensive side of the ball. Plus, he has the potential offensively to be just as good if not better than Vasquez. I would love to pick him up just don't want to give up too much.

I don't think that matters, it's how much he costs that matters. Part of McNamara's dream offseason includes trading Vasquez, Lopez and a 2014 1st for Bledsoe. That's just insane. Even if he were a better fit I wouldn't expect him to become an AllStar level talent and that's what I'd expect giving up 3 decent assets like that.

Seriously? Poor guy's worse than Fletch

Wow, you were serious.

Those who just look at raw numbers will question whether a move from Vasquez to Bledsoe would be a significant upgrade, but those who have actually watched the two men play will not.

Could he sound any douchier when he says this? I've watched nearly every Hornets games and a number of Clipper games. What a ridiculous statement.

He also plans on stealing Pekovic and drafting Otto Porter. Getting Bledsoe and Pekcovic for Vasquez, Lopez, a future 1st and $6 million in cap space isn't a terrible move, but 3 of those assets for just Bledsoe is. It also doesn't fit in with the way Demps has done things. I can't think of anything he's really over paid for other than maybe Ariza, and that wasn't by much.

Me too. If not him, I'd love for to somehow get Wilson Chandler in a trade. I'm enjoying being able to watch the game while we're in season, but I can't wait to see what we do with the cap space and lottery pick this offseason.

If we got Pek and drafted Porter, we would be set for a nice run, IMO.

All-Star break and the difference between these two on the defensive end is equivalent to the difference between Al-Farouq Aminu and LeBron James on the offensive end. And that is not hyperbole for the sake of being provocative, it is straight up fact.

Actually that's a straight up opinion.

Zero percent chance you get Bledsoe for Lopez. It would take at least Lopez, Vasquez, and 2014 1st. Maybe more. And I would honestly be fine with that package if that is what it cost.

I'm not sold in Bledsoe, not at that price. If Pek can be had at a good price and leave those assets, then fine, as Lopez's value to us drops. It's not a good move in isolation.

Every comment MM makes is comedy gold

That's too much for Bledsoe IMO. I've soured on him a little bit after seeing him during that stretch run when CP3 was out.

Exactly, although I'm still not sold on Bledsoe as a major upgrade. He's definitely better on defense, but his assist:turnover is under 2. He has shot the ball well from 3, but how much of that is set up by Paul?

He may be a slight upgrade, but I just don't see him as a future star like some do.
