Meh. Dude's billed as "west coast's Savior" or whatever only because west coast has nothing else to offer in the traditional sense. The beats he rhymes on are ok, but his rhyme skills are lackluster. If he gets over, it's because somebody you'd grab your ankles for told you to listen to him.

If you prefer mainstream, you probably won't like KL. Wiz Khalifia was my favorite rapper, but Lamar has taken my top spot. Wiz sold out.

Im an old man, the early 90s are the golden age of hip hop imo. K dot fits in with that era. It makes me sad that someone with the screen name of phife could call kl lackluster. Dude is legit and far from mainstream.

His songs actually have some truth and meaning in it, unlike some other rappers we know....

He'll be as good as he allows himself to be. I just hope he doesn't go the the Wiz route (which isn't even a fair comparison, because even Wiz's first LP sucked compared to his prior mixtapes). I get everyone has different tastes, but I don't get how some people who listen to Hip-Hop can't recognize how good he is.

Now you have my attention. Recommend me something. Admittedly, all I hear are his tracks they play on shade 45, and I haven't been impressed.

My favorite kendrick song, he says some poignant shite on this track. frick your ethnicity Also, you really should listen to good kid mad city front to back. Its a great album and the songs flow and fit together brilliantly. I could see how hearing them out of context would sour you, but when put together with the story it all comes together.
