I'm having to test my connection to the internet(wifi) everytime I start my XBOX

I didn't have to do this before with my Xbox Live. How can I fix this?

Contact your internet provider.
I assume you are connecting via Wi-Fi?
Sometimes your NAT settings reconfigure due to provider upgrades. Have them reset your NAT and you should be fine.
I suggest popping in Halo. It's menu will show you your internet connection ratings. It's the easiest way to diagnose a connection problem.
