Dug this song for years and only recently discovered it was referencing the lead singer's girlfiend's suicide and his subsequent unsuccessful suicide attempt by jumping off a pier in Santa Monica when he was a teen.
Still an awesome song.
Pretty sure no one knew back in the day the Sex Type Thing by STP was a Date Rape song.
