Yes, this was actually a show on NBC.

That looks badass. I would ride on the Supertrain.

you would probably like the disco too.

Hit the gym, a few drinks in the bar, pick up some ladies in the disco, arrive at your destination. What's not to like about that cross-country trip?

So they used the Love Boat template and applied it to a train. Awesome

I remember Supertrain. NBC promoted the hell out of that show. Over 30 years later, I still have that damned "bumper" they used to play right before commercials stuck in my head.

Yep, even the opening song sounds similar.
Looking this show up - Probably didn't help that it went head-to-head with Charlie's Angels on Wed night - which was a top 5 show.

So that's what the high speed trains are supposed to be. Thirty years later and they still haven't built that shite

Exactly what I was thinking. Detailed all the way to the Isaac replica. I guess some things never change...even then they rehashed ideas in TV

Johnny Holmes with the lazer guns

A train version of the Love Boat?

I did not recognize a single name in that intro. Did any of those actors ever work again? The conductor looked maybe like he was Long Duc Dong's "dad"/Molly Ringwald's grandfather in Sixteen Candles, but not sure.

Good eye. That's him, Edward Andrews. Patrick Collins and Harrison Page have worked steadily, mostly in TV. Robert Alda is Alan Alda's father and died in the eighties. Nita Talbot seems to be retired. Michael DeLano was in Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 12. Charlie Brill does voiceover work. The only two who seem to have disappeared are William Nuckols and Aarika Wells
I was curious and bored

Lol at the black guy dropping the drinks in opening credits.

I remember watching that show too. My grandmother was a Love Boat fan (I think she dreamed of Captain Stubing getting inside her granny panties). So one night as a kid I proposed she watch this with me because bullet trains were more awesome than Princess Cruises.
It had potential (not as much potential as Cop Rock), but failed to reach it.
