Yeah, they're going to have a very long season. They'll challenge Grambling for the worst college baseball team in the state, maybe the country.

Weren't they something like 5-55 last year?

I don't know. Were they back up to Div. 1 last year or is this their first year back up?

The Cajuns vs UTSA will be on ESPN3 tomorrow at 2 PM. It's a MyKLAF broadcast so it will be shitty quality but it's baseball.

What has happened to UNO? I remember them making it all the way Omaha back in dthe summer of 1984 (I think that was the year) and then hosting a regional at Privateer Park when LSU came out as winner against Cal St Fullerton. UNO's programs in basketball and baseball have really gone down. Been living in Montana for a while now and am certainly curious as to why they have faltered.

They had no money. They dropped down to like d3 or something and then moved back up soon after. They haven't recovered from all of their players transferring away from the program. UNO used to have a hell of a baseball program. We played some great games against them in baseball and basketball so I wouldn't mind seeing them get their shite together.

Im with you hendersonshands. I too went to some great games against UNO back in the day and was at the PMAC when they beat us in the NIT in basketball. Like you, I would certainly like to see them get back to their winning ways. thanks for the insight and good luck this season.

Yes I too feel bad for the UNO squad. I know a handful of the guys on this team. I'm sure playing D1 ball is a dream come true for a lot of them, but they realize there are only a few D1 talents on the team.
Last year they won like 20 games with a D2 schedule. They made a ton of roster changes though.

2 seasons ago they played a full D1 schedule and won 4-5 games, thankfully only a couple kids that suffered through that season will also go through this one.
In 2011 they were taking basically anyone who wanted to play.

I feel really bad for Bruce Peddie and his winning percentage.

Yeah I was on that 2011 team. It was tough to go into every game knowing that we would play tough for a few innings and the we would have that one inning where we would give up 5 or 6 and that was all she wrote. Coach Peddie is a great coach and he has been dealt a horrible hand.

Back in early 90's I went to UNO and went to many UNO basketball games when Tim Floyd was there. Also went to a few baseball games.
