As fun as it is, game chat isn't always about "shite talking". Being able to chat with my friend who is playing Minecraft while I play Halo is a nice feature.
Plus, ESPN3.

So how's the awkward silence when you realize two grown men are talking about their day together without common ground?
"Hey bro, these aliens are getting chainsaw gunned like a mother fricker and it's making me happy because work was super tough today"
"Oh I know, my GF won't get off my arse, hang on, I gotta finish this wicked awesome football field lego thing"
"ok.................."

If I am playing an FPS, there is no way i'm going to be in a private party chat to chat with someone playing Madden. I like to communicate with my teammates in FPS games.
again, it's a great feature for those who like it, but I just never cared for it.
ESPN3 is cool and all, but I could just simply stream that on my laptop while playing videogames if I really wanted to.
Different strokes for different folks. I owned a 360 at one point, but I enjoy PS+ far more than I enjoyed 360
