Yes, when I saw the yahoo account failed I immediately changed to a different e-mail and tried to use "Macintosh" again. Well then it said the name was already taken. ( since I just signed that name up on the yahoo account). So then I had to just use Macintosh504.

The request may have been pending when you tried to sign up a second time, keeping you from using it (again).
This really wasn't your fault (per se), I'll give a thumbs up on this one. Were the rules on the email addresses posted when you tried to sign up?
