It's not a question of it being popular or being banned, it's the availability at the moment and the near future. There have been a couple of threads where ammo mfg's have stated it will be months before it is widely available again.

223 isn't a very popular hunting round. Maybe for varmints but there aren't many deer hunters that like to use it.

Have you been to the store lately? No one knows when 223/556 will be back in stock because it is sold out at every single store. He's not being a nut, he's giving a good suggestion since ammo is so hard to come by.

No. Ammo prices are inflated, Pmag prices are inflated due to a 1 million unit backlog. Trade makes sense because someone out there is sitting on a hoard of ammo with no mags. Unreal that someone asks this question on this board.
