although I don't think Nola's power game will dissipate as quickly with age as Ryan's did.
I will play along....
This statement is incorrect. NObody will ever have the power game Nolan Ryan had at the age in which he had it. That dude was still a beast well into his 40's as far as his power game goes.

Fun Fact: The last pitch Ryan ever threw was clocked at 98 mph... with a torn ligament in his right shoulder.
Threw no hitter #s 6 & 7 at ages 43 and 44.
Beat the hell out of Robin Ventura at age 45.
I think he did okay in his later career.
And to the OP, I get what you're saying. I'd also agree that thus far, Nola has shown he has the tools to be successful. Unfortunately more times than not, that doesn't always translate to the pros.
And lets hold off on the Ryan/Koufax comparisons for right now. A lot of guys have a long way to go to get there, let alone guys that haven't thrown a single professional pitch.

Dude was juicing! I hate to burst your bubble, but every athlete who had unbelievable feats of endurance and power in the last 30 years was juicing. EVERY ONE!
