What's the lighting like in the room?
If you have complete control over lighting (including natural lighting) then plasma may be a better choice. If you have natural light in the room that you can't control then LED (which is an LCD TV with LED back lighting) will be the better choice.

If you have a bright room or windows facing the television you are going to have a bad time.
