First of all, given that Rondo is hurt, there is no question that the best chance for a "last hurrah" lies with Howard.

Second, even if Howard doesn't blow the Celtics's socks off, he won't necessarily just walk. The C's will have sign and trade opportunities. I'm a Rondo fan, and I HATE Howard, but if I had to hit the reset button on a great team, I'd prefer to do it with an elite center over a very good PG, especially since each has their own personal issues.
