What if the Death Star was run by a sentient A.I. ?

When I say sentient, I mean so sentient that it can think and feel like a normal being but smarter than everybody else.
How do you think that would've played out in the movies?
I think it would be interesting. I'm no Star Wars nerd here so bare with me.

Not possible. The titanium flux vortex compactor couldn't maintain an A.I. as well as the fire power it contained. Trusting an A.I. with the power of the photonic energy beam would be dumb and doom us all

In the EU, this was the bounty hunter IG-88's idea. He uploaded himself to the Death Star II, but Lando destroyed it before he could gain control.
