How can anyone justify watching trash on TruTv or anything involving a teen mom?

I don't get it either. And anyone who gets it probably won't have a good reason.

The worst are the people that discuss what happened on Jersey Shore as if it isn't all faked and staged. Everything on tv is fake, why do some shows try to act otherwise?

depends on what the show is.

I think Teen Whore and Honey Boo Boo are some of the worst things ever put on TV and are currently eroding any hope I had for the future of this country.

But I like Bar Rescue, Hotel Impossible, and Restaurant Impossible. And whichever storage unit show that comes on Spike, with big bald guy.

I agree there is a difference. In some of those shows and others there is a goal. Renovating a house, winning a contest, etc.

I don't get the appeal either. The only reality show I can stomach is Discovery's Deadliest Catch.

I like some reality shows that are basically a game show with someone winning in the end, most notably Big Brother.

The "reality shows" that are clearly fake and are just supposed to give a glimpse into someone's occupation (pawn stars, hardcore pawn, the trucking shows, the logging shows, etc) seem totally stupid and I have no idea why someone would tune in. Why would I want to come home from work, then watch a show about someone else at their work?

I like the Amazing Race due to the various different locations you get to see, but I too do not like Reality TV. I guess its seeing real people in forged situations that appeals to some.

If nothing good is on I'll watch Lizard Lick Towing, Full Throttle Saloon, and Black Gold....it's all staged but those are some funny arse people. Take it for what it is, a comedy show.

One or two episodes can be entertaining. I just don't see how they can do whole seasons of things like "Mudcats", "Honey Boo Boo", "Pawn Stars", etc. Once you get past seeing how crazy/stupid/disgusting/etc the people are, it loses its value rapidly, especially when it's so obviously and badly scripted.

It's sports for women

Men watch football

Women watch competitions about things that interest them

Men dream of doing something: hitting a home run, scoring a TD, killing somebody

Women dream of being chosen: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Miss America

People's lives are boring and they like watching real people do things they never could
