The better FCS teams are not that bad. Definitely competitive with the teams from 90 - 120.....

I mean Michigan lost to App State..

This is not a move to avoid weak competition, it is a move to save embarrassment.....
NOT REALLY, I think the Big 10 wants strength of schedule points..... But I bet it doesn't work, because these teams will replace FCS teams with the newbies in FBS..... ( I still prefer D1 and 1a)
