if they had stopped the clock and we were able to get another play off and won the game, that would have been us getting lucky. i don't know why people, at the time and now, still complain about that. we got stuffed and didn't deserve to benefit by someone getting hurt. if he doesn't get hurt, the clock still runs out and we lose. winning a game because of a fluke injury would be about as lucky as it gets. what it does compensate for (very very slightly) is the fact that alabama has been called for about 5% of the holding they've done since they started playing football.
