6'2" 185lbs Class of 2014

Anyone heard anything about him? We offered and he said he will be attending one of our camps. He said he likes the tradition here and mentioned DBU. He also stated that he likes the school itself and not just for football. He likes our broadcasting program. Can't link the article its from a paysite but here is his profile Rivals

I thought for sure this would be a thread saying he was Arnaz's son.

It's gettin to be about time that my high school timeline will soon have kids who are college prospects. Reality sucks.

3.5 GPA and scored 20 on the ACT

he puts himself in the position to make a play a lot and likes to hit. Id love to have him here. And with this class comes through like we're expecting he can get some looks at receiver with his size.

It says he's CB but he plays a ton of FS as well.

He seems to be really interested....I like how the "DBU" names carries on...we might not get every DB recruit (e.g. Priest) but at least they recognize and respect it.

Yeah. It's kinda hard not to. With the talent we put back there. If tyrann somehow makes it into the first round well have a DB go first round 3 years straight and a good chance to carry that streak.

Gotta get a guy with a last name of Battle. I'm already groaning in anticipation of the lame puns.

I can see it now...."insert name of WR" does not want to go to Battle, with John Battle

Although it might be way too early to say, we already have like 5 or 6 DBs that we are high on and they are high on us (and that would be all we would take, even if we take all of them) .... so is it not immaterial to be looking at other DBs???

It's not so much about which guys we get. It's about what we do with them. If we can keep turning out high-round NFL draft picks, the recruits will come. Continue to come, I mean.

If we can take 5 guys for a 3 man position (LB) then we can take 6 for a 4 man position...

Well (if you include Battle), that would be 7 DBs and all in one class. In addition, not all of them can play CB and S (so you are limited there too).

So I'm not sure if you are thinking this thing all the way through. Just saying. There is more to it than you let on.

Our perceptions of these guys are going to change a lot after camps this summer. In all likelihood, at least one of these guys is going to be unimpressive and drop down our list below someone we haven't even heard about yet. That's what happened with Mathieu, for example. So, we may not be handing out more commitable offers now, but we darned sure will be recruiting them (and trying to get them to camp).

Actually, "anticipate" doesn't mean the same thing as "eagerly anticipate." "Anticipate" simply means to expect something to happen (e.g. The quarterback flinched in anticipation of the hit from the DE).

Sorry for nerdiness.

DBS play WR all. The damn. Time. And vice versa

And could take 8 and that would just be the 2 deep. Not everyone pans out.

The 2012 call was a lot of LBs. the 2013 class was a lot of DL. The 2014 class will be a lot of DBs. So be it.

This does occur, but not all the time. (It has occurred more often of late cause of the talent and the type to guys LSU (and other top programs are targeting). But I disagree that a CB = S = WR = who cares. I just disagree with this.

Sometimes people can play different positions, but not all the time (and as it particularly relates to the 7 guys I am talking about, I know definitively that one can. I do not know about the others).

I do think you have to be careful with this, cause take too many at one position and you are thin at others.

So be it.

I do agree with this, on basis, cause with that many great (and namely 4, 5 star guys, I think) DBs, well yeah you do take them.

As GOP tiger said,

quote:

I think we all agree in the end. I was just wondering where it ended with all the designated DBs (again I am looking at the designation as a DB and I am not assuming that they can play multiple positions).

And for the record, if/ when they come to camps and impress, I trust the staff to bring them in.
