Regarding the 1979 LSU - USC game and questionable call...

Here is the play in question. I was there and the QB's (Paul McDonald) face mask was touched and maybe pulled. Note that there was not a 5 Yard FaceMask penalty then.
What bothered most fans was the NO CALL on the false start by the RG and RT.
It should have been off-setting and the play run again. Instead, it was a 15 yd walkoff and a 1st down that led to a game winning TD.
Despite the outcome, arguably one of the best games ever played in Tiger Stadium.

This is not true. The play should have been blown dead for the false start.
Also, Mcdonald threw the ball backwards to a lineman. Why was that not penalized? The announcer is Jim Simpson and he has no clue to any of this.
