I've been told that if you shoot one, it will vomit its last meal on you.
Pretty sure that if it doesn't have a season, and it's not a blackbird, grackle or crow about to depredate on some crops, you cannot shoot it. Not sure about starlings and house sparrows, but every one of them should be killed.
