lawson vs. riley. thats the part I don't get. why would staff pull schollie from lawson to give riley. thats how it worked out. must be some reasoning behind it if only riley helps with 2014 curtis kids. lb was not a position anyone suspected to take 3 spots.

LSU didn't want to take the risk for a player like Lawson. It's that simple. When a kid is not qualified, it is a tenuous situation. It sounds like the kid did everything he could from the end of his junior year on. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough all things considered.

Pride is a funny thing. Even in this thread you have posters swearing that there was no risk and that LSU dropped Lawson for a higher ranked player. The truth is that LSU didn't drop Lawson...it only asked him to wait a semester so that LSU could ensure that he was qualified. And, LSU didn't replace him with a high ranked player...they replaced his spot with a last minute offer to a guy who was a marginal offer for a long time.

Those people won't acknowledge that truth because then their hurt pride and anger is no longer justified.

I dont get the impression thats how it happened. Riley was 100 percent qualified, Lawson, as I understand it, is not 100 per cent. So its not a matter of one player over the other. Lawson still gets his scholarship and everything else, he has to sit out fall semester and come in the spring, still not a bad deal no matter how you look at it.
