My point was that no body for sure knows what Sheppard will do when given a chance to catch the ball from a real QB. If Calvin Johnson had to play with Mettenberger, he wouldn't have been invited to the combine either.

Here's the funny thing about NFL scouts: if you've got talent, they will find you. They always find you. It's how players like Colston from Hofstra make it to the NFL. Reuben Randle was selected in the second round despite catching passes from Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee.

It's time to accept that Shepard, while very much hyped as a 5* coming to LSU, didn't pan out to his projected ability. And that's ok. It happens. You can blame Mett as much as you want, but at some point, people are going to have to accept that Shepard may not be the player they wanted him to be. Look at his performance in the Senior Bowl- zero catches. Zero. And Mett/JJ/JL was not on the field that day. He caught six passes this season, and just one in SEC play.

I understand Les Miles runs a conservative offense, but Odell Beckham managed 43 receptions while Jarvis Landry caught 56. Hell, even Kadron Boone and James Wright had more catches this season. Accept that Shepard is not some NFL first round talent who was squashed by Miles. Reality smells so much better.
