Is Oldboy worth the watch? Is it a Requiem type (fricked up and depressing the entire time) or a suspenseful movie with a stunner ending?

More the latter. It's not depressing at all really, just has a pretty screwed up ending. But yes, well worth watching, all of Park's films are.

The "corridor scene" alone makes it worthwhile.

Mystic River with Sean Penn and Tim Robbins ending pretty fricking depressingly, along with
Edmond with William H. Macy

Haven't seen it, but if it's more twisted than Chinatown or Oldboy, I will.

You should check it out. Killer Joe probably has the most twisted and depraved final segment of any film I've ever seen.

Just trying to go with something besides the obvious ones here, but Strangers was pretty fricked up.

"funny games" hurt my feelings pretty good. I'm not watching Serbian Film if I was paid too, and I'll never watch Kids, Requiem, or PI ever again. nope

Oldboy and Se7en are the ones that immediately come to mind.
