I'll make it snappy.

I'm surprised this kid is still on the board tbh, with my 4th pick I'll take Justin Manning, Defensive Tackle, Texas A&M

And with my 5th pick, I'll take Cornerback, Jermaine Kelly, University of Washington. Salute to T-Dawg.

Damn. I selected Harris last pick thinking that at worst one of Manning or Golden would've been there for my next pick. Damn I missed on that one.

Back to the board.

I select Derwin Gray, OT Maryland.

I think this guy is a top 5 tackle in the class, and he's another guy I expect to start from early in his career. He's big, strong, and a very physical, violent player - exactly what you want in an OT. This guy is special. I'm very surprised that he hasn't been taken already, with lots of guys going after linemen early.

ETA: I really like the Isaiah Golden pick this late.

jembeurt selects Steve Elmer OT, Notre Dame

After missing on Gray, I took the next Tackle on my board. I like Elmer's talent more than Gray, but figured Gray would find it easier to get on the field earlier. However, with Elmer's early enrollment, that might not be too big of a deal. Elmer has perfect size and mobility for a OLman and just enough of a nasty streak. He played defense as well in HS. With a pretty weak OT class this year, getting Elmer here is great.

I was hoping Elmer would come back around to me, but I knew it was a long shot. Good choice.

I'll trade ya!

Seriously though, I was talking to Pasty about how this Tackle class is not nearly as strong as it was the last few years. Grabbing a talented one early and hopefully hitting on a sleeper later was the route I wanted to go. I've had pretty good success finding good talent at that position late in these drafts the last few years. We'll see if I can pull it off again.

Haven't been thrilled with the OTs I looked at either. One reason I pounced on Lisle. His tape stood out to me.

I was shooting for Tunsil in the first round that way I had a stout OT and then work from there. Dorian Johnson didn't make it back for my second pick. At that point, there was too much talent out there to jump on a tackle just for the hell of it.

This is kinda a weird class. I haven't been as impressed with people.

Gotta keep watching tape.

Yeah, I picked Goodman and thought Manning or Golden may make it back to me. Oh well, can't have them all.
